Welcome to Oakhenge Hemp Farms. We are so thankful you took time out of your day and busy life to visit us. We are an organic hemp farm located in the wilderness of northern Michigan. While serving my country I earned my masters in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology through the American Military University. I have always been passionate about biology. Growing up on a ranch in a rural ranching community, wildlife and biology was always important. Cannabis was also a part of my life and my culture of being an extreme sport poly-athlete, however, after an intense and stressful life it started to impact me in negative ways. It was giving me anxiety and panic attacks. I began searching for an alternative and that is when in the early 2000’s through a friend I discovered the catatonic strain that was cultivated for cancer treatment. It was like nothing else I had before; the euphoria, relaxation, pain relief, and stimulation, without any of the negative side effects.

It was then that my passion for hemp was created. I combined this passion with my passion for biology, my family history of ranching and agriculture, and with pride was one of the first farms to be licensed in the state of Michigan for growing hemp and hemp processing. Oakhenge Farms is located not ten miles away from my great grandfather’s ranch that was established over 110 years ago. Our farm isn’t just a matter of passion but it is generational pride to provide our consumers with the very best hemp that you can procure. Our farm has many distinct advantages that really sets us apart. Since our farm is located in such a secluded forested area there is no fallout from industry or urbanization. Our trees block the winds and inclement weather protecting our hemp plants and allowing them to grow larger and heavier flowers because of the micro-climate and protection from winds. Our farm is far removed from any town and as a result is fed by the spring located within the heart of our farm. This pure and unadulterated resource is a great luxury to have. To go one step further our spring water is then put through a reverse osmosis system. With our spring water our plants are completely sun grown. Beginning their life in our solar greenhouse and then finishing in our fields. In the words of Arjan Roskam, founder of the Greenhouse Seed Company, “Nothing can rival in taste and profile than sun grown”. This allows us to be environmentally friendly, lower our operational cost, and provide a better end product. No corners are ever cut in the pursuit of our craft.

Through a passion for the environment and the outdoors we have created a very unique and unparalleled growing style. At Oakhenge Farms we work with a simple formula to provide the very best quality hemp. Beginning with our own low impact growing methods. First since our farm is our home and something we cherish for all the gifts it provides, we created a low impact growing method. A native prairie to our farm is utilized and our custom made pots are placed upon it. This allows us to grow without any impact in the ecology of the forest and allows mother nature to be our pest control service. Growing starts with certified organic seeds from the very best hemp genetics on the planet. Our seed provider has over 22 awards from both the Hemp Cup, Growers Choice, and many others. The air pruner pots were designed specifically for Oakhenge Farms and were manufactured from recycled ocean plastic. We choose white to keep the root zone cool even in the warmest summer months. Pro Mix organic soil is utilized as this is the best soil to have the dry/damp cycle. This produces the healthiest plants with diligence and dedication. Our plants are then fed the complete line of Organically Done nutrients. During the mid to late flower stage we treat with Zerotol to prevent any microbial or fungal growth. We finish with a two week flush. Our plants are then harvested after a strong rain to ensure a surface wash. Hemp is then wet trimmed, smalls and trim are flash frozen to forty below zero for live resin bubble hash and vape cartridges. Buds are dried at 61°F and at 61% Relative Humidity. After drying all our buds go through our unique cold curing process. Where flowers are cured at 61% Relative Humidity at 41°F. This very unique curing process preserves the complete essence of the flower. This process takes 90 days to complete and a special treat for the distinguished connoisseur.
